Maysa: drastic custom Breyer "Smoky". Finished March 2011. On eBay 3/27/11-4/3/11.

Here's a bit of Maysa's auction description:

Maysa is a drastic custom Breyer "Smoky" to a turning, galloping Arabian mare. Every inch of this sculpture has been re-sculpted by me, Maggie Bennett, leaving her entirely new--a true drastic custom.

She is finished in many layers of acrylics (airbrushed and handpainted) and colored pencils, and has been thoroughly sealed for durability before her eyes, hooves, and nostrils were given the appropriate sheen or gloss. Maysa has delicate hair patterning in her flanks, which is too fine to really show up in photos. She also has delicate wrinkles and fine veining and surface texture in all the right places. Her mane and tail have all the variation that many real chestnuts show, accomplished by hundreds of long, fine strokes of varying colors.

Maysa is a traditional scale CM Breyer model horse. Since she is a customized Breyer she is eligible to show at Breyer-only shows such as BreyerFest Live. I would consider her LSQ (live show quality), but she has not been shown. Other customs I have created have been live shown successfully, including winning grand championships. If you don't care for her name you are welcome to change it! I just like to name them since it helps me stay organized.
